Listing image brief skill
R950 / US$59
Get listing images right before you upload them: an agent skill that turns what you know about a product into a planned image set and a shot-by-shot brief for a photographer, designer or image generator, and a checker that tests every finished file against Amazon's and Takealot's published image rules.
What's inside
- Image brief skill: lets Claude Code or another AI agent gather your product facts, plan a main image plus six to eight more with one job each, ordered by the doubts that stop shoppers buying, and write the brief and shot list. It never invents a measurement or a claim: anything without proof is marked as needed from you.
- Main image checker: a script that reads a folder of images and reports, for Amazon and Takealot separately, what to fix and what to check: format, pixel and file size, DPI, colour mode, shape, transparency, a background that is not pure white, how much of the frame the product fills, cut-off edges, near copies such as a recoloured main image, Amazon bulk-upload file names and the tag Amazon asks for on AI-generated people.
- Marketplace image rules: both marketplaces' rules side by side, each with its source, including category exceptions and the extra images Takealot requires in some categories.
- How to brief: the method, from shoppers' doubts to text on images, claims and their proof, using image generators without generating the product, and what to change after launch.
- Templates: a product facts sheet and a shot list with Amazon's image codes and Takealot's image positions.
- Worked example: a made-up 750 ml steel bottle with its facts sheet, the full brief and shot list written from it, and sample images with the report the checker wrote for them.
Who it is for
Sellers on Amazon and Takealot who brief their own photographers or designers, and anyone who manages listings for clients and wants every image set planned and checked the same way. Use the brief before the shoot and the checker just before upload.
Format
One zip file, delivered by email after checkout. An agent skill folder, Markdown guides, CSV and Markdown templates and a Python 3.9 or newer script. With the free Pillow library installed it also checks backgrounds, fill and near copies; without it, it checks the files only. Works on Windows, macOS and Linux. Nothing connects to your marketplace accounts or uploads anything.
Amazon's image rules checked on 20 October 2026 and Takealot's on 19 and 20 October 2026. Made by JS Labs. Licensed for use in the buyer's own business, including on products listed for clients. Not for resale. This skill is not made, endorsed or supported by Amazon or Takealot.
